When it takes us down the wrong path, we rewrite the script from a wiser place, and navigate closer and closer to our truth. Sarah Luiz says she knows in her heart of hearts that she’s living a life true to her being — which is why she feels confident she’ll be the first transgender woman to give birth.

Luiz knows it won’t be an easy path. She knows there will be resistance all the way. But she’s a strong woman shaped by life trials very few have endured, and she believes it’s her rightful place and time, at age 44, to become a mom.

But, then one of the girl’s girlfriends said she was really a dude in a female’s body. I wasn’t even sure what that meant. And things changed. While they did, I tripped up. I used the wrong pronouns; I used the wrong name. Everyone did. It’s confusing as hell when someone switches which box they tick on government forms. In the multitude of faces in a city, it was hard at first to see the changes in “Henry.” To go from the super-tough-looking lesbian chick in the gender-neutral leather jacket to a baby-faced kid in overlarge shirts doesn’t attract public attention right away. Because first there’s just cutting the hair and binding the chest, purging closets of girlish things and holdover skirts."

Demand that David Letterman apologize for Transphobic joke

Send a message to the producers at the Late Show letting them know that transphobia isn't funny. Amanda Simpson is well-qualified, distinguished in her field, and will prove an asset to the U.S. Commerce Department. For the Late Show to make a joke about how "sick" she is because she's transgender is offensive, rude, and fosters the types of discrimination and violence that affect the trans population at large.

Barack Obama has chosen Amanda Simpson as a Senior Technical Advisor to the Department of Commerce, marking the first transgender appointment in an American presidential administration.

Simpson has more than 30 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry, most recently serving as Deputy Director in Advanced Technology Development at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Arizona. While working at Raytheon, she transitioned from male-to-female over a six-year period, and successfully lobbied to add gender identity to Raytheon’s Equal Employment Opportunity Policy

A transgender anarchist has pleaded guilty to smashing windows at the Colorado Democratic Party headquarters office in Denver.

Denver Democrats and Republicans blamed each other in a back-and-forth of accusations over the act of vandalism, which was carried out by 24-year-old Maurice Schwenkler and at least other accomplice in the early morning hours of last Aug. 25. Democrats were quick to say that Republicans had piqued anti-Democratic sentiment; when it was revealed in the press that Schwenkler had worked as a canvasser for a local Democratic politician, Republicans were just as quick to accuse Democrats of engineering the vandalism to win public sympathy

Holiday Spirit..really?

So Christmas is almost upon us... with all the violent traditions associated with the adopted pagan festival. On the 24th of December, Christmas Eve, when Santa starts slaying, I won't be found anywhere..because I'll not be observing Christmas this year. Instead, I'll be sharing a vegan snack or two with some mates and relaxing 3 days before the blood shed..

I guess its my idea of fun, rather than someone else's. It is kind of like sexuality and gender sometimes, choosing to live on your own terms, making a point of avoiding festivals which are inherantly biased towards minorities based on their ritual bigotry and violence. But seriously holidays are a great idea - Everyone have fun.
