About
Milisha was a project which began in 2008 and has now made it to the interwebs. The original project was to make a creative space, where people could express their sentiments about trans *gender* *sexuality* *politics* *identity* etc, among other things, independent of some of the devices which try to bully us, and force us to conform to the somewhat awkward structures outlined for trans people by non trans people.
In other words I thought it was time I had a voice, time to get out of the corner I may have backed myself into and equip myself and others like me with the resources necessary to tackle some of the gray areas which can leave you unsure, even squirming, wishing for a say among peers who either don’t care or don’t know what your needs are, what’s cool and what’s not, etc. It’s also about having fun, and letting go of the bad stuff.
Milisha began as a print in 2008, with the teeniest distribution of less than 10, I’m hoping that with more contributors and contributions, I can turn it into something worth reading for many more. the first two issues are online, but the potential to get bigger and read by more people will mean the magazine will only get better.
As well as the magazine, Milisha aims to be an online community of contributors and readers, with regularly updated news, pictures, videos and blogs. Links to some of our favourite pages and more to come, like audio musings (podcasts) – what’s not to like?
