Zines

Issue 3 is now available!  28 Pages of trans and genderqueer counter-gender terrorism or gender terrorism, depending on your perspective!  Including 13 full length articles, as well as pictures and helpful graphics, to help equip you to take the fight to gender based oppression and equip you with some interesting and controversial social and political strategies.  Selling for $5 because it does take time and effort, and there were basically no contributors.  That’s fine, contribute if you want to make this free and public.

When Milisha first began it was a little zine I put together to try and overcome some of my inhibitions and doubts that I may have had as a trans person. I felt like I needed to cover a lot of ground to inform people that trans and genderqueer people amazing. Diverse, interesting – It began about me expressing myself, to deal with the emotional journey I was undertaking – I was coming to terms with my sexuality and attempting build bridges to let people a little further into my world. The second issue was an attempt to address a few broader issues, which well I was also trying to come to terms with, particularly the creative starvation that exists for trans people who are often discouraged by cisgenders and the binary. I had allowed other people to contribute to the second issue, which eventually came into existence – but this was still before my InDesign days.

If you enjoy the free issues or just want to support the project you can donate!

Now Issue 3 has less of me (yay!) and again tries to promote trans autonomy, empowerment and trans-sexiness. Less in the way of pictures, but more articles that deal with sexuality and social drama. I was able to use InDesign for this latest edition and am quite proud with the result. I look forwarded to more people contributing and taking a direct interest in what Milisha magazine stands for – breaking down the double standards and empowering trans, genderqueer and other gender diverse representations! Don’t leave this up to only a few people, make it happen, belong to something and make it happen, and it will always be there.
